Homelessness is a direct product of racial and social inequity. Art4Equity seeks to create a community space that encourages awareness of social issues, while also giving young artists a platform to display their art.
We address homelessness by printing young artist’s designs focusing on social justice onto clothing and selling them at local businesses, online and at flea markets. With the cash generated, meals are cooked each week and distributed to LA’s homeless. So far we have paired with a handful of locals from restaurants, to shops, to other grassroots organizations. We just negotiated access to professional kitchens. So far we have made over 3,500 meals for the community.
